Years ago, I searched the internet looking for good descriptions of rides. But they were far and few between. Some of the rides that I printed out were very difficult
to follow, so I decided to do something about it. I created this site to help my fellow bikers find new trails to explore. Most of the rides on this site are in the
San Francisco Bay Area, but a few are outside.
Each ride has the following:
Description
Distance
Elevation Gain/Loss
Difficulty
Technicality
Riding Time
Directions
Topo Map
Profile
Trail Log

New Rides – The rides with the tan border are mountain bike rides while any appearing with a gray border are road rides.
This page has a large map of California divided up into its separate counties. Any counties that have rides in them will be colored and clickable. All gray counties do
not have rides…yet. If you don’t know California counties by location, text links are also available.
This page has a listing of all of the parks, be them State or Regional, Open Space Preserves, Forests, and other locations that I have ridden. They will be listed down
the left-hand side. If you know the name of the park, this is the page for you. If you can’t find a park name that you know, visit the California County Map page.
This page has a listing of all of the mountain bike races that I have ridden in. They will be listed down the left-hand side.
A Road Rides section now exists. Yes, this is a mountain bike site, but sometimes training on a road bike helps round out the training experience for races. The road
rides are listed under their county.
I have had 4 mountain bikes over the last 13 years. My first two were Univega Alpina Unos; 1987 and 1993. The 1987 was a good bike, while the 1993 was quite
disappointing. I then stepped up a notch and purchased a 1998 Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo. This was a great bike for my riding skill. But I soon outgrew that and wanted
something more…something awesome. I recently purchased a 2000 GT XCR 1500. This is a spectacular bike that has now become an extension of me. I love it!
Great gear has two purposes: 1) it helps to be prepared for any eventuality, and 2) it makes you look good. When you ride, ya gotta look good, no matter your skill
level. But you also have to be prepared to fix a broken chain, replace a flat, or gulp down some nutrients.

“There’s is nothing like riding through pampas grass with your shorts on.”
Conan Tigard on North Peak riding through all of the pampas grass.
